Your Garden - This Month
If you are not sure what you should be doing now, we have arranged suggested jobs by calendar month. Gardening will be very much dependent on the weather in your area with the timings given as a guide only. Be prepared to bring things forward or put them back to suit the particular season. You cannot garden successfully by the calendar alone. Frosts can come early in autumn or occur unexpectedly in early summer. The ground may be frozen or water-logged when you would like to be planting, or too dry when you want to sow your summer seeds.
The most time-critical jobs are likely to be in spring and autumn, and when frost-tender plants are put outside or taken in.
