Your Garden - NovemberIf you are not sure what jobs you could be doing in your garden in November, here are a few suggestions:
Kitchen Garden
Dig over and add manure to ground ready for planting new fruit
Plant containerised and bareroot fruit trees and bushes
Check fruit and vegetables in store and discard any that are rotting
Dig or fork over vacant vegetable patches incorporating plenty of manure
Compost any remaining vegetable plants & apply Garotta compost accelerator.
Sow broad beans (Aquadulce Claudia) for an early crop next year
Flower Garden
Plant bareroot roses, trees and shrubs
Plant tulip and lily bulbs
Check wall plants and climbers and ensure they are securely tied in
Cut back faded border perennials
Protect tender plants with fleece and put bubble insulation up in greenhouses.
Take hardwood cuttings and root them outdoors
Brighten tubs and baskets with pansies, violas and mini cyclamen
Lawns
Give the lawn a final cut setting blades high
Send mower for servicing
Lay turf if ground is not too wet or frozen
Dig over ground where new lawns are to be laid removing any perennial weeds
